
On November 29, 2023, at 1915 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 7000 block of Sunderland Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 1915 hours
On Scene: 1917 hours
Under Control: 1934 hours
Upon the arrival of FWFD Engine 8, no visible fire was seen from a small one story residential. All occupants were out of the house. Crews found an active fire in the attic around the chimney. A fire attack hose line was pulled from the engine with a quick extinguishment of the fire before it spread further. Crews had to do some overhaul around the attic and chimney to catch all hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was determined to be an accidental fireplace/chimney fire.
