On August 31, 2023, at 1850 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 3000 block of McCormick Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 1850 hours
On Scene: 1852 hours
Under Control: 1859 hours
On arrival firefighters encountered moderate smoke issuing from the apartment. The fire was located in the kitchen and was extinguished in 7 minutes.
Eight occupants, two adults and six children self-evacuated. Firefighters found two cats in the apartment and reunited them with the occupants.
Fire Damage: Moderate
Water Damage: Minor
Smoke Damage: Moderate
