On August 3, 2023, at 0056 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire in the 300 block of East Dewald Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 0059 hours
Under Control: 0115 hours
Firefighters arrived on the scene and found a large 2-story house split into multiple apartments. The building had light smoke coming from the second-floor. Crews determined which upstairs apartment had the fire and forced entry into it and found fire in the kitchen area. The fire was extinguished. Crews remained on the scene to overhaul the building and check for any fire that may have extended into other areas of the building.

Water Damage: Minor
Smoke Damage: Moderate
