On May 1, 2023, at 1725 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported fire at R&R Dumpster Service, 2916 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 1725 hours
On Scene: 1727 hours
Under Control: 1733 hours
The first firefighters on the scene found fire and smoke coming from the front of the building. The fire was brought under control in approximately five minutes.
Both occupants of the business were able to self-evacuate. One of the occupants however, received minor burns and was transported by the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority to a local hospital.
Fire investigators determined the cause to be a glue stripping product that was being used too close to an open flame near a water heater. The cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental.
