On February 24, 2023, at 2020 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a building fire at Nowak Supply, 302 West Superior Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 2020 hours
On Scene: 2024 hours
Under Control: 2040 hours
When firefighters arrived smoke and fire was showing from the building and from multiple portable toilets along the outside of the building. Crews forced their way into the building and started attacking the fire from the inside at the same time crews were extinguishing the portable toilets on the outside. It was then that a body was discovered. The fire was extinguished, and overhaul was performed.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
