On February 6, 2023, at 2247 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire in the 1800 block of South Calhoun Street.

Under Control: 2327 hours
The fire involved six upstairs apartments over a first floor business. Five of the apartments received smoke damage with the fire apartment being heavily damaged by fire. The downstairs business had water damage from firefighting operations.
The fire was placed under control in just under 40 minutes.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
Two occupants self-evacuated and firefighters assisted with locating and removing one occupant.
