FWFD: Duplex Fire, 2000 block Hanna Street

On January 16, 2023, at 1925 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a residential structure fire in the 2000 block of Hanna Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1925 hours
On Scene: 1929 hours
Under Control: 1935 hours

When firefighters arrived, there was fire showing from the rear of the residence. Crews immediately pulled lines, entered the structure and extinguished the fire and searched for any occupants. The fire was brought under control in 6 minutes and crews continued to work on hot spots.

All occupants had already exited the structure along with 1 dog. One dog did perish in the fire.

The fire was cleared by investigators as an accidental cooking fire.

Water Damage: Moderate
Smoke Damage: Heavy
