Statement on behalf of the City of Fort Wayne’s Community Development Division and the Downtown Improvement District:
We’re thrilled that we’ve received final approvals from the City Council and the State of Indiana for the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) for downtown Fort Wayne, and we look forward to announcing an official starting date very soon. Currently, we’re focused on ensuring that law enforcement and all public safety measures are in place, including providing specialized cups for all establishments in the approved zones, as well as installing specific recycling bins and signage that are easily distinguishable so that we can have a successful start to the DORA in our community. We’re very excited about the long-term positive impact this will have on our downtown.
