FWFD: House Fire, 100 block West Wildwood Avenue

On October 12, 2024, at 0909 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a vacant house that had previously had a fire in July 2024.

Time of Alarm: 0909 hours
On Scene: 0912 hours
Under Control: 0929 hours

Firefighters arrived on the scene, three minutes after the 9-1-1 call, to find a two-story residence with light smoke showing from the front of the house. Firefighters advanced a handline through the front door and extinguished a fire in the dining room area. Additional crews checked for extension and removed smoke from the structure. The fire was under control at 0929 hours. No one was inside the house and it had no working smoke detector.

Fire Damage: Heavy
Water Damage: Heavy
Smoke Damage: Heavy

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
