FWPD relaunches its Citizen’s Police Academy for the first time since 2008

The Fort Wayne Police Department is proud to announce the return of its Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) after a seventeen-year hiatus.

Fort Wayne Police Department relaunches its Citizen’s Police Academy for the first time since 2008

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 25, 2025) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) is proud to announce the return of its Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) after a seventeen-year hiatus. The program offers residents a hands-on look at FWPD operations, from patrol and investigations to K9 demonstrations and CSI techniques.

Dates: Thursdays, October 2nd – November 13, 2025
Location: Public Safety Academy, 7602 Patriot Crossing, Fort Wayne, IN
Cost: free

Applications will be accepted September 1st through the 18th online.

Space is limited to twenty-five participants.
