On May 21, 2024, at 1314 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Walnut Street to a reported kitchen fire.

On Scene: 1316 hours
Under Control: 1326 hours
Firefighters found light smoke coming from the rear of the residence and entered the home and extinguished the fire. One adult and three children escaped the home on their own. Two dogs were rescued by firefighters.

Water Damage: Moderate
Smoke Damage: Moderate
