On February 20, 2024, at 0528 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a residential structure fire in the 1200 block of Burgess Street.
Time of Alarm: 0528 hours
On Scene: 0529 hours
Under Control: 0552 hours
When firefighters arrived, smoke was showing throughout the structure and it took some time to locate the fire due to dense smoke. Once the fire was found in the basement, it was extinguished and overhaul was contained that area.
Crews were able to clear the structure and confirm no one was left inside.
The fire is still under investigation at this time.
Fire Damage: Minor
Water Damage: Moderate
Smoke Damage: Heavy
