FWFD: Apartment Fire, 5000 block Madiera Drive

On February 11, 2024, at 1030 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to the 5000 block of Madiera Drive on the report of a structure fire at the Black Bear Creek Apartments.

Time of Alarm: 1028 hours
On Scene: 1031 hours
Under Control: 1040 hours

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find light smoke coming from the roof eaves. A fire was located in an upstairs apartment and extinguished it. The fire was contained to that apartment and caused moderate smoke and water damage.

Residents in adjoining apartments were evacuated by firefighters as a precaution. No firefighters or civilians were injured.

Water Damage: Moderate
Smoke Damage: Moderate
