FWFD: House Fire, 8300 block Rail Fence Road

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 8300 block of Rail Fence Road on February 8, 2024, at 1401 hours.

Time of Alarm: 1401 hours
On Scene: 1406 hours
Under Control: 1444 hours

Crews from the first fire engine’s arrival found a medium 2-story residence with heavy fire involvement coming from the 2-car attached garage. The Initial fire attack was hampered by additional fuel being spilled from the vehicle on fire in the garage. Multiple fire attack lines and foam were used to bring the fire under control without fire damage to the 2 story part of the structure.

There was, however, Smoke damage throughout the residence. Everyone had self-evacuated prior to the firefighters arrival.

There was one minor injury to a firefighter who was treated at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There was heavy damage to the garage and a vehicle parked in the garage.
