FWPD Update: Homicide Suspect Arrested, 7900 block Serenity Drive

On October 4, 2020, in the early morning hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department apprehended Ronald Williams in connection with a homicide earlier in the morning.

Suspect Arrested: Ronald Williams M/B/31 DOB 08-31-1989

Preliminary Charges:

  1. Murder
  2. Battery with a Deadly Weapon

Details/Summary:

Fort Wayne Homicide Detectives assisted by Vice Narcotics and Gang/Violent Crimes apprehended the suspect from a homicide earlier this morning. Two people were shot and a female victim, name not yet released, died this morning in the 7900 block of Serenity Drive. Detectives worked diligently and many tips led them to the subject arrested, Ronald Williams. This is believed to be a domestic situation at this time but detectives will continue to work all angles of this incident. Williams is charged with Murder and Battery with a Deadly Weapon. These are preliminary charges and they may change. He was taken into custody without incident.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
