Details/Summary:
On Sunday October 4, 2020 at approximately 7:04 AM officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department initially responded to the area of the 7900 block of Decatur Road in reference to a male outside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. While officers were responding to the area, another 911 call came into dispatch advising of a shooting inside an apartment located in the 7900 block of Serenity Drive.
As officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male outside in the 7900 block of Decatur Road suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was treated medically at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As officers arrived at the apartment on Serenity Drive, they located an adult female inside an apartment suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the female to be deceased at the scene.
Investigators on the scene are speaking with possible witnesses to obtain additional information and Crime Scene Technicians are on the scene processing the scene and collecting evidence. At this time, there is very few details of the incident. There is no suspect information at this time and no arrests have been made. The female victim’s identity will be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
