FWPD: Stabbing Investigation, 4500 block South Hanna Street

On April 23, 2020, at 0234 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4500 block of South Hanna Street in reference to a stabbing.

Location: 4500 block of South Hanna Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Victim: Adult Male

On Thursday, 04/23/2020, at approximately 2:34 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4500 block of South Hanna Street reference a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located the male/adult victim suffering from an apparent stab wound to his chest. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital the victim’s condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.

Preliminary information indicates there was a disturbance at the residence prior to the stabbing. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and hope to obtain suspect information once those interviews are concluded.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
