Shooting Investigation
Date: October 12, 2021
Time: 2243 hours
Location: 2300 block of John Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana
Victim: Adult Male/Deceased
On Tuesday, 10/12/2021, at approximately 10:43 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2300 block of John St. reference shots fired, followed by a vehicle crash.
Officers arrived and located a male/adult victim in the driver seat of a crashed Toyota Corolla. The victim was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Initial information indicates the shooting occurred while the victim was inside the vehicle, which then crashed into a vehicle parked on John St. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and Crime Scene Investigators are processing the scene in an effort to obtain additional details. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the official cause and manner of death. All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
