Today, Alan Heaton of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm to 63 months in prison.

Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 63 Months in Prison For Firearms Offense
Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 13, 2025) – Alan Heaton, 35 years old, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Holly Brady after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, announced Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor.
Heaton was sentenced to 63 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
According to documents in the case, Heaton unlawfully possessed a firearm after having been convicted of multiple felony offenses in Allen County, Wells County, and DeKalb County.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stacey R. Speith.
