Details/Summary:
On August 31, 2021, at 9:59pm, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 4200 block of S. Monroe St. Officers arrived and located a vehicle that had struck a parked vehicle. This vehicle was occupied by a solo adult male who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
Initial information indicates the shots may have been fired in the 4300 block of S. Monroe St, and the vehicle traveled a short distance before striking the parked vehicle. No other persons were located.
At this time, there is no suspect information available. Investigators are going door to door, trying to locate anyone who may know what led to the shots being fired. Crime Scene Technicians are searching for and collecting any evidence.
