FWPD Update: Suspect Arrested for Additional Armed Robberies

After further investigation, the Fort Wayne Police Department has linked Ian Bazur-Persing to two other robberies the same day as he struck at the IHOP on Coldwater Road.

Date: December 24, 2022

Locations:

  1. Walgreens, 6201 Stellhorn Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana
  2. Marathon Gas Station, 510 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Time: 0130 hours and 0230 hours, respectively

Suspect Arrested: Ian Bazur-Persing, 41 years-old

  1. Armed Robbery
  2. Armed Robbery

Details/Summary:

On 12/24/22 FWPD Officers arrested IAN BAZUR-PERSING, after a short footpursuit, immediatley after he had commited an armed robbery at the IHOP located at 4403 COLDWATER RD. In that robbery, BAZUR-PERSING held the manager at knife point.

After follow up and further investigation, FWPD Officers have been able to connect BAZUR-PERSING to additonal robberies and theft investigations that occurred earlier in the same day. The first incident was at the Walgreens located at 6201 STELLHORN RD at 1:30am. The second robbery occurred at the Marathon Gas Station located at 510 LOWER HUNTINGTON RD at 2:30am. Additonal charges are pending.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
