NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING ACROSS NORTHEAST INDIANA AND NORTHWEST OHIO THIS AFTERNOON. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING SLOWLY NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE SCATTERED ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS.
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL…PEA SIZE HAIL…WINDS UP TO 50 MPH AND OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM THIS AFTERNOON.
RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR ARE ALSO POSSIBLE WITH THESE SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS. PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS MAY OCCUR QUICKLY AND WATER MAY ALSO RISE QUICKLY IN SMALLER STREAMS..CREEKS AND DRAINAGE DITCHES. DO NOT PLAY OR ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH ANY FLOODED AREAS. TURN AROUND…DO NOT DROWN.
GUSTY WINDS MAY ALSO CAUSE SMALL BRANCHES TO BE BLOWN DOWN…AND LOOSE OBJECTS TO BLOW AROUND. STAY AWAY FROM HIGH OBJECTS OUTDOORS SUCH AS TREES. SEEK SHELTER IN A STURDY STRUCTURE UNTIL ANY STORM HAS PASSED.
