The Fort Wayne Police Department has arrested Darnell R. Martin in connection with the stabbing investigation on September 11, 2022, near the intersection of Bass and Hillegas Roads.

Details/Summary:
FWPD responded to the intersection of Bass Rd. and Hillegas Rd. regarding a disturbance in which males were fighting outside of a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male with stab wounds and another male on scene with minor injuries. While on scene, three additional victims arrived at Lutheran Hospital Downtown with minor stab wounds. One victim was determined to have life threatening injuries. FWPD Homicide detectives and Crime Scene were summoned to the scene to further investigate and determined an altercation started at another location with all five subjects before the reported stabbing. This investigation is ongoing with the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
