Details/Summary:
The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigation a fatal single vehicle accident that occurred June 6th, 2022 at approximately 9:39 am at 1004 W. Coliseum Blvd. Preliminary investigation indicates that a white Chrysler 300 was traveling East on Coliseum Blvd. when the driver (solo occupant) had a medical episode causing the driver to veer off the roadway crashing into the Regency Inn sign at 1004 W. Coliseum Blvd.
The driver was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag was deployed. The driver, an adult male was rendered care at the scene by paramedics and was pronounced deceased a short time later at the scene.
The Fatal Accident Crash Team and the Air Support Unit were paged to take over the investigation. One West bound lane of Coliseum Blvd. was closed during the course of the investigation. The Coroner’s office will release the cause and manner of death at a later date.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
