On June 6, 2022, at 0649 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and two vehicles in the 2100 block of West State Boulevard, in front of the Dana Corporation.

Details/Summary:
At approximately 6:49 am officers responded to a vehicle collision of a motorcycle and two vehicles at the 2100 block of W. State Blvd, in front of Dana Corporation. Prior to officers’ arrival, they were informed a male was lying in the road nonresponsive.
When officers arrived on scene they found a male adult, motorcycle driver, lying in the road. Officers immediately provided life saving measures until medics arrived on scene. Medics immediately transported the injured male to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicate an SUV, sedan, and motorcycle were involved in this incident. The SUV was traveling east bound on State St. turning north into the DANA parking lot. The motorcycle was traveling west bound on State St and swerved to the left to avoid colliding with the SUV. However, the motorcycle grazed the rear corner of the SUV. At this time the sedan was traveling east bound on State St. when the motorcycle then side swiped the sedan and was ejected from the motorcycle. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries. The driver of the sedan had minor injuries to her arms.
Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) and Aerial Support Unit (ASU) was called to the scene to conduct an investigation. All east and west bound lanes of traffic were closed to travel during the investigation.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
