On February 26, 2022, at 2051 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a home in the 1200 block of Glenwood Avenue on the report of a domestic disturbance in which gunshots had reportedly been fired.

Details/Summary:
On February 26, 2022, officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of Glenwood Ave on a report of a domestic disturbance in which gunshots had reportedly been fired. Officers arrived and determined through investigation that the arrestee, Thomas Neuhaus, had gotten into a physical altercation with a family member during which he allegedly fired a shot in their direction.
Officers attempted to get Thomas to exit the residence to be interviewed, but Thomas did not comply.
Due to the violence that had already ensued, the Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Air Support Unit were summoned to the scene in hopes of bringing a peaceful resolution.
Negotiators attempted for over three hours to make contact with Thomas to motivate him to surrender, but Thomas did not comply. Shortly after 12:30am, EST officers breached the front door, and finally convinced Thomas to surrender without incident.
Thomas was taken to a local hospital for a minor injury sustained during the altercation with a family member and was then booked on the above charges.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
