On January 29, 2022, at 1719 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Fairfax Avenue and Standish Drive in regards to a shooting that was reported by multiple witnesses.

Victim: Adult Female (Deceased)
On Saturday, 01/29/2022, at approximately 05:19 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Fairfax Ave and Standish Drive in regards to a shooting that was reported by multiple witnesses.
Officers arrived and located an adult female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene in an effort to obtain additional details.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
