The Allen County Coroner has identified Ronald Joe Smith Jr. as the 24th Allen County Homicide in 2024.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
On June 10, 2024, at about 23:30 hours the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a death investigation in the area of Wells Street and Superior Street, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The victim was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
An autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin of Ronald Joe Smith Jr., male, White, 52 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Cause of Death is Gunshot Wound of Head, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Ronald Joe Smith Jr. is the 24th Homicide for Allen County in 2024.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
