The Allen County Coroner has identified Alfred Woods as the 7th Allen County Homicide in 2024.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
On February 15, 2024, at about 540 hours, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a death at a local hospital that was a result of complications from a shooting on July 30, 2004 in the 3100 block of Warsaw Street, Fort Wayne.
Notification has been made to the next of kin of Alfred Woods, male, black, 70 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Cause of Death is Sepsis due to complications of Paraplegia due to Gunshot Wound, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Alfred Woods is the 7th Homicide for Allen County in 2024.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
