FWPD: Vehicle accident, East Washington Boulevard and Lafayette Street

On July 7, 2024, at 16:31 hours, the FWPD and FWFD responded to reports of a crash with parties pinned at the intersection of East Washington Boulevard and South Lafayette Street.

Details/Summary:

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 4:31PM FWPD and FWFD responded to reports of a crash with parties pinned at the intersection of E Washington Blvd and S Lafayette St. Upon arrival, Police and Fire located a gray Mitsubishi Lancer with both its driver and passenger pinned. The FWPD FACT team was paged out to process
the scene. FWFD extracted both occupants, who were then transported to local hospitals. The Driver’s injuries have since been declared non-life-threatening. And the passenger has been declared to have suffered life-threatening injuries. Occupants of the Ford and Chevy were treated and released on scene.

Initial information indicates the Mitsubishi had been traveling Northbound on S Lafayette St when it reportedly disregarded the red-lighted signal. As the Mitsubishi traveled through the intersection, a black Ford F350 and a silver Chevy Equinox, traveling Westbound on E Washington Blvd, crashed into the Mitsubishi. Investigators are currently on scene taking measurements and collecting evidence. At this time, it does not Appear alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. There is nothing further, as this investigation is ongoing.
