FWPD: Active Shooter (unfounded) investigation, 4250 Airport Expressway

On October 25, 2024, at 12:18 hours, the FWPD responded to the BAE facility at 4250 Airport Expressway, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in reference to an unknown employee enroute with a firearm.

Time: 12:18 hours

On Friday, October 25, 2024 at approximately 12:18PM Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the BAE facility, located at 4250 Airport Expressway in reference to an unknown employee enroute with a firearm. The incident was received from a third party caller.

Upon arrival at approximately 12:24PM, FWPD officers made contact with facility management and entered the premises. Shortly after officer arrival, an additional call was received from a BAE employee, who was located inside the facility, reporting an active shooter. That call was received at approximately 12:29hrs, prompting emergency response from additional FWPD officers, as well as ACPD and ISP. FWPD officers on scene advised they had not heard any gunshots while inside the facility, but an audible alert for active shooter was aired, prompting the facility to be evacuated.

With multiple agencies on scene, the facility was cleared of potential threats and employees were cleared to return. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
