Union Street Market announces new leadership and businesses
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 14, 2022) – Union Street Market today announced three new concepts that will open at Electric Works this fall, along with new leaders who will oversee the market.
Katy Silliman has been named senior experience director for Electric Works. Silliman, a Fort Wayne native, has worked in economic development and restaurant and retail operations. Silliman will oversee operations of the Electric Works West campus, which includes market operations, community activation, events and programming.
Ermin Husidic has been named market director. A United States Air Force veteran, Husidic’s family came to Fort Wayne as Bosnian refugees in 1999, and he has served in a variety of hospitality and tourism management roles over the past 15 years.
The new concepts announced for Union Street Market include:
- Grabill Amish Pastries: From the owners of the Country Store in Grabill, Grabill Amish Pastries will offer fresh-baked breads, handmade donuts and pastries, plus their signature Amish noodles.
- Grabill Amish Deli: The Amish deli will feature hot and cold sandwiches and their renowned Amish potato salad, plus a wide range of sliced meats and cheeses.
- Herculean Meal Prep: With a popular store at the Bottleworks Food Hall in Indianapolis, Herculean’s Union Street Market location will add convenience for Electric Works tenants and Market shoppers, providing delicious, prepared meals ready to cook at home. Herculean Meal Prep offers healthy and delicious frozen entrees made with fresh and increasingly locally-sourced ingredients.
“Union Street Market continues to attract new merchants, adding strong concepts to a diverse mix of local food entrepreneurs,” said Ted Spitzer, Union Street Market’s director of planning and development. “We now have Katy and Ermin in place as senior experience director and market director, and the opening for Union Street Market is approaching. We cannot wait to open our doors and begin serving the region seven days a week!”
Union Street Market will open this fall and is currently over 75% leased. Additional merchant announcements are expected soon, but there are still a few spaces available. The opening and event schedule will be forthcoming. Food entrepreneurs are encouraged to visit https://fortwayneelectricworks.com/union-street-market/ to learn about leasing opportunities.
