The National Weather Service reports that smoke from several very large west fires has drifted over the Midwest and will persist over the forecast area through Wednesday causing a hazy look to the sky during the day and a reddish moon at night.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 20, 2021) – Smoke from several very large west fires has drifted over the Midwest. The smoke will remain aloft but will persist over the forecast area through Wednesday causing a hazy look to the sky during the day and a reddish moon at night. Temperatures will be warm today, but a little cooler Wednesday. Dangerous swimming conditions are forecast tonight and Wednesday along the southeast shore of lake Michigan.
