Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 29, 2021) – The following events and programs are happening in July at the Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun Street:

“Visions of the Old West” Garden Exhibit
July 3 – November 14, Public hours
Stroll down the main street of a not-quite-Ghost Town, listen to ragtime tunes from the honky-tonk saloon and appreciate the wild and rugged beauty of cacti, succulents and wildflowers in the surrounding hillsides. Pump water from the community well, play a game of cracker-barrel checkers in the shade and look over the “WANTED” posters for local outlaws. Summer annuals will make way for autumn chrysanthemums in warm russets, tawny golds and blazing orange. Sponsored by the M.E. Raker Foundation and Wilson Foundation.

Daylily Show
Saturday, July 10, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
On the first Saturday of the Three Rivers Festival, come soak up a cheerful array of Daylilies as one of summer’s favorite flowers! Also meet experienced gardeners and learn more about this durable garden perennial on display with its diverse forms and colors. Plants will be available for purchase. Regular Conservatory admission rates apply. Presented by the Fort Wayne Daylily Society.

WILD WEST Sessions
Thursday-Saturday: July 15-17, August 19-21, September 16-18, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Drop in for some wild west fun as part of the “Visions of the Old West” garden exhibit! This is an extra chance to explore the wild west through various activities, crafts and demonstrations. Themed monthly topics include gemstone sluices in July, westward pastimes in August, and mining for gold in September. Included with regular Conservatory admission. No registration required.

Jazzworks! Concert
Saturday, July 17, 7:00-10:00 p.m.
Bring lawn chairs to the Conservatory and enjoy one of the best views for the Three Rivers Festival fireworks finale. Before dark, groove to the jazz styling of local musicians Aleena York & Blue Pluto and The Mad Scatter performing outdoors on the Conservatory Terrace! Food and beverage available for purchase from Mad Anthony Brewing Company; no outside food or beverage is permitted. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Admission: $6 ages 13+; FREE 12 and under. Sponsored by Mad Anthony Brewing Company, 89.1 WBOI and WANE 15.

Iris Sale
Sunday, July 25, 12-3 p.m.
Local Iris hobbyists will be returning for this special opportunity that allows visitors to purchase rhizomes of their favorite varieties. Bring home various colors and types such as Siberian, bearded, crested and more. Regular Conservatory admission rates apply. Presented by the Northeast Indiana Iris Society.

Tai Chi – Skill Building
Tuesday, July 20, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Registration deadline: June 15
Session Fee: $9
Revive energy levels with Tai Chi summer sessions for beginning to advanced students. Skilled instructor, Sandy Gebhard will help participants discover the benefits of this gentle art form that relaxes the body and focuses the mind. At the end of each session and at their own leisure, students are welcome to take a meditative walk through the gardens. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable fitting shoes. Drop-ins are not accepted at this time. Ages 18+.
