Tour Fort Wayne’s Finest Pubs to Benefit Susan G. Komen Foundation
Two local women are joining the fight against breast cancer. Karen Gillie and Mary McArdle have committed to walk in the 3-Day race for a Cure in Chicago, IL in August 2010. The two will walk 20 miles a day for 3 days and have pledged to raise $4,600!
In an effort to raise money, the two are holding a St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. The event will take place in downtown Fort Wayne. Participants will begin at Don Hall’s Gas House, 305 East Superior Street, and receive a punch card for each stop. Participants will then walk, run or bike to other pubs on the route. The stops on the route include The Green Frog, Deer Park, O’Sullivan’s, JK O’Donnell’s and 816 Pint & Slice.
Participants will stop at each location to have their card punched and then return back to The Gas House. The participants can enter their completed punch card for prizes. Prizes include gift certificates or merchandise from local businesses such as Downtown Pizza , Vera Bradley and Calhoun Soups and Salads.
The event is set for Saturday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. To register for the event visit web.me.com/race4cure/cancer to download the entry form. The first 60 entrants will receive an official race t-shirt.
