Including an exciting collaboration with the Fort Wayne Ballet’s production of Midsummer Night’s Dream

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 1, 2026) – The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is pleased to announce an exhibition by iconic American artist Chuck Sperry, opening April 25, 2026 through August 09, 2026. Chuck Sperry’s Archetypes highlights the artist’s vision of the Greek Muses rendered exclusively on just over 100 wooden panels in their most complete display to date. All the works shown in the exhibition will join Chuck Sperry’s Archive in FWMoA’s Permanent Collection.

Chuck Sperry is an American printmaking master known for his psychedelic rock-and-roll posters full of intricate details, bold colors, and visually striking imagery. In his personal artistic practice, Ancient Greece has served as a source of inspiration for Sperry for its rich mythological history and its pioneering of a democratic society. The Greek Muses, nine goddesses of the arts and sciences, represent Sperry’s commitment to exploring the relationship between art, nature, and social commentary in the modern world.

Guests are invited to a book signing with Chuck Sperry on April 25th from 1-4pm as he releases his new book, Archetypes, available for purchase on April 24th in the FWMoA Paradigm Gallery. The book signing is included with FWMoA admission. No special tickets are required.

In tandem with FWMoA’s opening weekend festivities, Chuck Sperry has created the original poster for the Fort Wayne Ballet’s spring production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Sperry’s artistic mastery perfectly illustrates Shakespeare’s world. This magical ballet is complete with beautiful costumes, delightful music, and a cast of colorful characters. The Fort Wayne Ballet along with Chuck Sperry and Curator Josef Zimmerman, will be selling original limited editions of Chuck Sperry’s Midsummer Night’s Dream poster at the matinee production on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Arts United Center.
