
Fort Wayne’s investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements continues with two projects led by the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division receiving preliminary approval from the Fort Wayne City Council this evening.

City’s commitment to neighborhood infrastructure continues with two projects advancing at City Council
Fort Wayne, Indiana (March 17, 2026) – Fort Wayne’s investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements continues with two projects led by the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division receiving preliminary approval from City Council this evening.
The Avalon Place concrete street repairs phase 1 project in southwest Fort Wayne is an investment of $2.045 million. The Northeast Quadrant resurfacing package was approved as well – $776,745. Additional resurfacing packages for the remaining quadrants in the City will be forthcoming in the near future.
“We value and appreciate the partnership and support we receive from Mayor Sharon Tucker and City Council,” said Shan Gunawardena, Public Works Director for the City of Fort Wayne. “Being in position to invest in neighborhood upgrades benefits our community now and in the future.”
