On March 12, 2026, at 0823 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a reported vehicle accident in the 2300 block of West Jefferson Boulevard, Fort Wayne Indiana.

Details/Summary:
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 8:23 AM, officers responded to a reported crash in the 2300 block of West Jefferson Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles involved in a head-on collision. Preliminary investigation indicates that a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle.
Both drivers, adult females, were transported to a local hospital. One driver succumbed to her injuries, while the other remains in stable condition with minor injuries. The Fort Wayne Fire Department assisted at the scene and extricated one driver who was trapped in her vehicle.
The FWPD Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) and the Air Support Unit (ASU) responded to conduct the investigation. West Jefferson Boulevard, near SweetCars, will remain closed until investigators complete their work. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased driver after next of kin have been notified.
This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD FACT Team and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
