Applications are now open for nonprofits to apply for Community Development Block Grant and Emergency Solutions Grant funding.

Applications open for nonprofit grants

Fort Wayne, Indiana (March 11, 2026) – Applications are now open for nonprofits to apply for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding. Information about the grants and how to apply can be found here.

CDBG funds may be used to support new or expanded services that improve the quality of life for low- and moderate-income individuals or families in Fort Wayne. Eligible activities include but are not limited to, programs involving housing counseling, employment, crime prevention, childcare, healthcare, drug abuse prevention, education, mental healthcare or recreation. The ESG funding may be used to address homelessness.

Only established 501(c)(3) agencies are eligible to apply. Anyone interested should plan to attend a voluntary technical assistance session March 16 at 3 p.m. at the WindSwell Foundation, 5323 West Jefferson Boulevard. Applications are due Thursday, March 26 at 5 p.m.

Funds are made available through Fort Wayne’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services annual allocation of US Housing & Urban Development (HUD) dollars.
