On February 24, 2026, at 1734 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2300 block of Smith Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1734 hours
On Scene: 1737 hours
Under Control: 1756 hours
Upon arrival firefighters found smoke and fire showing from first floor. The building was boarded up and appeared abandoned. Firefighters forced open doors and pulled hose lines to fight the fire. The structure was searched potential occupants, but none were found. The fire was extinguished and smoke ventilated.
FWFD secured utilities for structure and completed salvage/overhaul.
Fire Investigators arrived and investigated the cause and origin of fire.
