
On February 4, 2026, at 1322 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4300 block of Reed Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 1324 hours
Under Control: 1339 hours
The first firefighters to arrive on the scene did not observe smoke or fire coming from the house. However, upon further investigation, a small fire which was caused by an unattended space heater, was found in an upstairs bedroom. Fire and water damage was minimal but smoke damage was moderate.
No injuries were suffered by civilians or firefighters.
There was a smoke detector but it was non-functioning.
Investigators cleared the fire as accidental.
