
On January 31, 2026, at 0230 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 500 block of McKinnie Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0230 hours
On Scene: 0235 hours
Under Control: 0337 hours
When Engine 11 and Battalion Chief 11, arrived they found fire showing from multiple windows on the first and second floor. Firefighters pulled a line and started an interior attack on the fire. Other crews arrived and helped search the house to make sure all occupants were out and assist with fighting the fire. Multiple crews were called to the scene due to the size of the fire and the extreme cold.
All four occupants made it out of the house and were transported by medics to a local hospital for treatment. The dog and a turtle were secured, and 1 cat was accounted for. The other cat was still on the loose.
Crews will remain on the scene working to find hot spots and salvage contents.
The fire is still under investigation at this time.
