On January 31, 2026, at 2219 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4500 block of Wilmette Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 2222 hours
Under Control: 2232 hours
FWFD Engine 11 arrived in less than three minutes and found a working fire on the first floor. Crews forced entry into the house and extinguished the fire. The fire was under control in ten minutes.
A search of the structure was conducted and one dog and two cats, all deceased, were found. Two reptiles were found alive.
There were no occupants home at the time of the fire.
