Planned River Level Adjustment Postponed Due to Weather
Fort Wayne, Indiana (January 30, 2026) – Planned maintenance work on the St. Marys River has been postponed due to ice and snow conditions that would not allow crews to safely access the work area.
The work had been scheduled to begin Friday, January 30, 2026, and would have required opening the Tainter Gate at the Hosey Dam to temporarily lower river levels for inspection and maintenance of a pipe near on the St. Marys River.
City Utilities will announce a new schedule once weather and river conditions allow the work to be completed safely.
River levels will remain at their normal managed recreational level until further notice.
