
On January 31, 2026, at 0642 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to I-69 mile marker 302 on reports of a multi-motor vehicle accident.

Details/Summary:
On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 06:42AM officers with FWPD responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash on I-69 Southbound, near mile marker 302. Upon arrival, officers located the parties involved and discovered two occupants pinned inside one of the vehicles. FWFD arrived and extracted the two pinned individuals, who were then transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
FWPD, in conjunction with state and county officers are working to clear the crash as quickly as possible, but request motorists avoid this area of I-69 Southbound until the roadway is cleared.
UPDATE:
Upon arrival at a local hospital an adult, male involved in the crash was listed in non-life-threatening condition and an adult, female involved was listed in life-threatening condition. Due to the severity of the crash, an FWPD FACT page was initiated to process the scene. Additional patrol units will remain on scene, providing traffic control, but FWPD is requesting motorists continue avoiding the affected area.
