FWFD: House Fire, 3800 block Evergreen Lane

On January 25, 2026, at 0422 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3800 block of Evergreen Lane, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0422 hours
On Scene: 0427 hours
Under Control: 0514 hours

Firefighters arrived on the scene within five minutes of being dispatched. They found a one-story house with fire showing through the partially collapsed roof. The fire was visible throughout the entire attic space. Due to the collapse of the roof, firefighters used a ladder truck to get above the fire and knock it down with a large water stream from the ladder. Other firefighters used handlines to combat the fire from the exterior. Firefighters had the fire under control in 50 minutes.

Fire crews had been out a few hours earlier for an electrical fire in the attic.

No one was at the residence when the fire occurred.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation.

Crews remained on scene extinguishing hot spots.
