FWPD: Homicide Investigation, Pemberton Drive and East State Boulevard

On January 24, 2026, at 1755 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to an initial report of a traffic incident involving two vehicles on Pemberton Drive near East State Street.

Details/Summary:

On January 24, 2026, at approximately 5:55 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a traffic incident involving two vehicles on Pemberton Drive near East State Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid until Three Rivers Ambulance Service arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

This incident remains under active investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit. The Air Support Unit and Crime Scene investigators are actively processing the scene. There are no indications that the public is in any danger.
