
On January 18, 2026, at 2159 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3300 block of Eastwood Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 2159 hours
On Scene: 2201 hours
Under Control: 2216 hours
The first firefighters on the scene reported moderate smoke from the rear of the house. The first crew aggressively stretched a hose line inside of the residence to attack the fire. Other crews searched the residence and located several animals. Crews had the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. The fire was determined to be accidental and electrical in nature. Crews remained on scene for a couple of hours completing overhaul and checking for hot spots.
Smoke detectors were inside of the residence but not functioning.
Three adults and one child had self evacuated prior to the fire departments arrival.
