FWPD: CSA Arrest, 1400 block East Lewis Street

On January 3, 2026, the Fort Wayne Police Department began an investigation after a report of a Child Molestation was received.

Location: 1400 block of East Lewis Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Time: 1239 hours

Suspect Arrested: Breon Russell, 25 years old.

Preliminary Charges:

  1. Attempted Child Molesting, Level 1 Felony
  2. Child Molesting, Level 2 Felony
  3. Child Molesting, Level 3 Felony
  4. Child Exploitation, Level 4 Felony
  5. Possession of Child Pornography, Level 4 Felony

Details/Summary:

On January 3rd, 2026, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department began an investigation after a report of a Child Molestation. Officers learned the suspect, Breon Russell, was alleged to have touched six year-old girl in an inappropriate manner. Detective Michelle Brown with the Crimes Against Persons Unit was assigned to the case. During the investigation, investigators learned of a second child that the suspect was alleged to have touched in an inappropriate manner.

On January 9th, 2026, through a combined effort from the FWPD’s Crimes Against Persons Unit, Gang & Violent Crimes Unit and Vice & Narcotics Division, Investigators successfully located Russell and he was taken into custody. He was transported to the Allen County Jail.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
