Create the Bright: Winter Solstice Walk/Ride and Campfire
Fort Wayne, Indiana (December 9, 2025) – Gather friends and family and join us for the Winter Solstice Walk/Ride and Campfire at the Wolf Family Learning Center, Salomon Farm Park, 817 W. Dupont Road, 5:30 p.m., Sunday, December 21. DLZ, the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department and the City of Fort Wayne Public Works Division are partnering to present this FREE event.
On the shortest day of the year, let’s create the bright! Bring a flashlight, battery-operated lantern or Christmas lights and join us by wheel or by heel as we enjoy the Winter Solstice on the Pufferbelly Trail and Salomon Farm Trail Loop. We encourage all cyclists to light up their bicycles for fun, but require a front white light and red, rear reflector for safety. Helmets are strongly recommended. Walkers can deck out with Christmas decorations, lights, and bells.
Bicyclists will depart from the Wolf Learning Center at 5:30 p.m. for a 6.5-mile ride on the Pufferbelly Trail. The 1.65-mile walk around the Salomon Farm Trail Loop will begin immediately after riders depart. We will gather back at Salomon Farm following the ride and walk for food and a campfire. Participants are encouraged to bring a chair.
The Winter Solstice event is sponsored by DLZ, Fort Wayne SEED, Indiana Donor Network, IU Health, and Linke Urology + Robotics.
Follow Salomon Farm on Facebook for updates and weather-related cancellations.
